R50/53 Isn't it a bad idea to install a 4 point harness w/o a roll

I read in a drag racing magazine that you were not supposed to mount the shoulder harness to the floor. It should be mounted to the cross bar behind the seat. When mounted to the floor the forces in a rollover can cause a compression fracture of your back. Bad news. Many years ago I rolled a Datsun 510 (victim of snap oversteer) and I ended up laying sideways into the passenger seat. I only had a lap belt (3" racing harness) at the time. The roof on the drivers side was smashed flat to the body, I had to crawl out through the passenger side window. Luckly I wasn't hurt.

>>I ran with my Schroth 4 point for about 3 months before i installed a 4 point bar by Autopower ( $300 ) . I had heard the warnings about a 4 point with no bar and figured that someday I would put the bar in. ]http://www.maxmini.net/images/newpics2/rb7.JPG[/img]

and you my friend (or your family, really) will get a nasty surprise when some dingbat carshes into you and your precious unprotected head collides with those bars!! GET SOME PADDING - high density foam installed with tie wraps NOW!!
Or wear a helmet everytime you drive that baby.
On the subject of seat belts......three points are less safe than four points which are less safe than five points which are less safe (and a lot more painful ) than six point harnesses. The point of a restrining system is to prevent your body from bouncing around as you proceed to destry your vehicle. The firmer, the better.
Anything else, I respectfully submit is unfounded.
