Funny Acting Fuel Gauge??

Has anyone else noticed that their fuel gauge seems to jump around a little…..and not be very “linear”? For example, if the needle is right on the ¾ mark on my drive to work….it will pretty much stay there during the 20mile drive, and not move at all. But at the end of the day when I hop in the car and fire it up, all of a sudden, now it’s a good needles width below the ¾ mark or lower, but it wasn’t like that when I shut the car off. Or, I will take a long road trip and for the first 45min of the drive the needle won’t move at all….then the next 45min it drops a bunch…..then it stays put for a while…then drops again. It’s almost like it’s sticking, or the sender in the tank is acting up. Has anyone else ever noticed that?? Maybe it’s no big deal….just bugs me a little that it’s not more steady and constant through its movement
