Has anyone had their upper front windshied molding peal away. I was traveling on the freeway and all of a sudden heard this knocking sound on my roof. I pulled over and noticed that the molding was coming away from the windshield from the center out...

I have had it happen TWICE now, both times on the highway. After taking it in to Princeton the second time I was told that they had "attached it on more securely this time" Don't know why they didn't attach it more "securely" the first time!!

Anyway, I've been on the highway several times since then and haven't had a problem.

I have never had this problem on neither one of my MINIs but wonder if this is common on cars that have had the windshield replaced...

Yes, this happened to me. I took it in to MINI of St. Louis and they put on a new one. I think they glued it on because it's really tight now and haven't had any problems since.

The service writer did give me some sh*t about it though, he said "I'm told these only come off at over 100MPH." I said "what's your point?

It happened to me after 6 months of ownership. I took it in to Northwest Mini in and they glued it on good. It has been secure ever since. Not a big problem but one that MINI should look at making better.

Never heard of this but I'll keep my eyes open. Maybe the little windshield robot burped. Mine's been fine.

It is only supposed to come off at over 100 MPH eh? I guess I've been lucky LOL

Just happened to mine. Never had my windshield replaced, but it will be this week while my MC is in the shop for road debris damage repairs.

I pushed it back in, but it's definitely not as tight as it should be.

I have to quit reading this board! :???:
It seams like every time I read about a problem, the next time I look at my S...I have that problem.
I noticed a bunch of wind noise this morning and sure enough the molding is pulling away.
BTW I have the original windshield.

Perhaps y'all SHOULD have your windscreen replaced--I've had mine done twice and have never had this problem!

3rd day of ownership molding flew off. made appointment with dealer closest to me. Crevier in Santa Ana. While in to replace the molding, they promptly broke the windshield.

Can't say anything good about Crevier.
