R50/53 Diesel Fuel in Mini Cooper!
Diesel Fuel in Mini Cooper!
Fueled up my mc with 8 gallons of premium gas. so i thought. the car wouldn't idle without being revved up to 5k and would only run at a high rpm. after 4 days of this, and 80 miles i find out that the trucking company pumped diesel into the premium tank. im surprised my car drove for this long with 2/3 diesel. now i have a failed post cat o2 sensor, and god knows what else. I don't have to pay for repairs, since the company is at fault. But, what else should I be looking for as far as engine/exhaust problems?
heard a rumor from some friends...but it turned out to be true and I've had problems with my car running all weekend. yeah, someone lost a job. a corvette, mustang and a few harleys are also victims of this mess.
Demand a rebuilt/remanfactured motor....
Even if you fix everything you find.....other compotents will likely fail...the extreme low octane of the fuel added may verwell of started cracks in the head...caused extreeme stress in the crank...it just may never be the same....and the high compression pistons on the mini does not help....and you did experance performance/running issues....if the motor was run momentarily...a tank drain, fuel system, filter change would be ok....but with a few more miles run......

I work at a small general aviation airport. I've heard stories of people refueling regular piston engine airplanes with jet fuel.
Unlike regular fuel, aviation grade fuels are color coded so problems like that don't happen.
I would suggest having the car brought to a reputable shop to have a thorough looking over.
