R50/53 Clutch issue

Clutch issue

While in my driveway, not moving, I pressed the clutch down and heard a whirring sound that took a few seconds to disappear. I am in Texas and it is 104 so I know it isn't a cold issue.

What could that be?

In neutral? When the throwout bearing goes out it makes a crunch sound when you step on the clutch.
