R50/53 What MPG are you getting out of your R53 Mini?

My auto gets better in town mileage in Sport mode and manually upshifting at about 2200 rpm rather than letting it shift itself in "D" at 2500rpm and above.

I have an 06 MCS with 60k. I consistently get 25 mixed (more city) and break 30 on the highway if I set the cruise control at 70. I turn off the AC when the environmental control is set on the Auto. I did not get the car for MPG tho.
It has been difficult to get much better numbers but it is quite easy to get worse.
Motor On!

I have an '03 S with all three pedals, and get about 30-32 in town depending on how well I behave since I got the new exhaust system. Before that it was 28-30 in town, though if I *really* misbehave a lot, I've seen it get as low as 24.
Of course, in the summer, A/C usage chops a few MPG off those figures....
On the highway, it depends a lot on whether I take the Interstate or back roads. I've seen as high as 34 on the highway, though 32 is more common, and if I'm on a club run and misbehaving enough to not get left behind by the other folks, 30 is about it....

However, around town, right after I fill up, if I don't hit any red lights, I get *fantastic* mileage at 40-45 MPH, especially since I got the exhaust system replaced with an aftermarket unit. Just so you know, it's a more or less level trip until I turn off Baseline and head up the hill into the SoPho Piedmont.
Check *this* out, on the way home tonight, just before going up the hill:
Yowza!
I fully expect this to drop off a *lot*, but *WOW*....

IMO the "constant" mpg readings are meaningless in this thread. It's quite easy to get it to read whatever you want.
OP was looking for average mpg, not instant mpg's.
05 MCS, 15%, manual trans, 25mpg, 70% very short commute through town, 30% highway.
This is calculated doing the miles / gallons on a fillup.
I just question the accuracy of the odometer.

I don't. I *know* mine's about 5% off--thankfully in the direction that helps keep you out of trouble with Johnny Law and his radar gun....

I had a record breaking tank going, but had to race before I got to the bottom of it. (One races on 1/4 tank, so I could not fill it!)
The top quarter is normally 150-160 -- this one returned 195
The top half is normally 220-240 -- this one was 295
The top three quarters will usually go 290-310 -- this one went 360
I was on track for about 430, a new record for this car...
Oh well - the racing was worth it! But watching the mileage certainly helps me drive gently, and that also helps me stay ticket free (knock wood).
Cheers,
Charlie
