erm...efcmini officially, but I shorten it to...wait for it...Mini. Yep, mini is short for efcmini. Pretty original I think. It knows it's full name, afterall it's on it's rear license plate. It'll be on it's front plate too as soon as I get that ticket for no front plate.

Am (impatiently) awaiting "The Call" saying my MINI is finally at the dealership- Anyway, one of the ladies I work with said I should name it "A Meeting" and then when I've been out driving all afternoon and someone asks where I was, I can say "I was in a meeting all afternoon."

I was going to name mine GOLIGHTLY, after HOLLY GOLIGHTLY in the movie breakfast at tiffany's. but ended up w/ BLUDOG. I have an indy blue so its just fitting. and also, BLUDOG kinda gives an impression its BULLDOG.

I saw on one of these sights where someone named their car GIZMO. The cars do look a little like little Gizmo.

Mine's named Bluebonnet cuz she's the same color as my favorite flower from my favorite state! But mostly we call her "Justa" for short.

IB/W Cooper! No rattles, no stumble, no probs at all unless you count when the dealership broke the windshield.

Love it, love it, love it!

I don't have my dark silver/black MINI yet (two weeks and counting) but I've already named it "Train".

I was gonna name her bluezy for the kind of music I enjoy to listen too...but one day I was enjoying the fragrance of the almonds trees in bloom outside my office and the thought came to me. and so Blossom came to be.
My MA Julie Saxo at Classic had her shipped from OH to California with a 3 ft tall plush stuffed Daisy
belted in the passenger seat. She rides proudly in the back seat where ever we go.

Blossom a EB/W O4 JCW
she be the noodling queen

our first baby was named G MINI, she was totalled by a 14 year old kid! we ordered another one in dec. '03 and it's name is GHOST MINI, since it is the exact same car, except the color.. (sigh ) we are going to trick this one out a bit more, i think it might be a boy!

I went to the web site of my local Registry of motor vehicles to see what had already been taken as far as vanity plates. Then I realized that to get a vanity plate would mean that I would also have to upgrade to TWO PLATES

What's wrong with me? I love my car, as much as anyone could
love a car... But I don't feel the need to name my MCS. I identify
with my car completely: it's image is a part of my image.

I've had other, kinda cool cars, never named them. And it's not for
lack of imagination...

Could be that for me, naming objects adds to their "cuteness". I'm
not entirely comfortable with "cute". (OMG, maybe I'm not secure
in my masculinity!)

God speed.

I sort of agree with CooperBeagle here - although I actually referred to my old '99 GTI as the Red Rocket, but that was due to alliteration more than anything else. I have not felt the need to name my car, period. And I also don't want to up the "cute" factor any more than I have to on my MINI.

So what makes one name their MINI? Would you do the same for a BMW M3? A 1970 Hemi Cuda? A Porsche 911 or a Volkswagen Bug? A Just curious as to what the thought process is...

Bekka

Even my 2 1/2 year old refers to the MINI by that name. Of course, he uses it when he says, "That's MY Bekka" Guess dad doesn't own a car in the family, anymore!

Why does a person name a pet? Affection. Your dog would be just as happy being called dog if it got fed, watered and walked on a regular basis. Your dog's name doesn't make a hill of beans to the dog. Its the same with a car. I've always named my vehicles. 79 Dodge p-up Orange and Black, Littlefoot. My 89 Mustang 4 banger, Pokey. My Mini Cooper S CR/B, The Baron. I name my vehicles for the same reason I name my pets, I feel affection for them. Or more accurately I like them. It has nothing to do with cute.

Yes, I would definitely name a hemi-cuda or a 911 but not a bug. Wouldn't own a bug.

Ours is called "Blue Brummie"

While I never thought of actually naming our Mini, this name just seemed to fit.
