See the chart that references the head room in the MINI. Btw, without the sunroof, you get another two inches.

It might have less leg room but I can't fit my 4 kids and 2 of their friends in my Mini. I love this country!

My MINI is very good for two people of nearly any size. No complaints from the driver's seat. As good or better than any of my other cars. In the back there is less leg room except for smaller people and kids but it isn't that bad compared to other small cars I've been in.

Before buying the Mini I test drove (among other things) a Volvo S60. To me the mini felt like it had much more wiggle room, as the Volvo has a design where everything wraps around the driver it was comfortable, but seemed like it would be dificult to stretch on road trips.

Drove LA to SF the day after buying the car and found that as driver I had plenty of room and as passenger I could recline the seat, push it back, and not touch the firewall with my feet (5'9" ~215). Everyone keeps making "small car do you fit?" comments to me, but the Mini took my wife and myself to San Francisco with 5 days worth of stuff, and we only had a few jackets on the back seat. Fit in 4 people for around-the-city driving with no problem.

In any case, the car isn't huge, but for 2 people and the occasional 4, it's more than enough IMHO.

Dave Watkins, a frequent traveler from Springfield, Ill., says he initially laughed when a rental car clerk suggested he could get his 5-foot, 11-inch frame into a Ford Focus compact car.

"I loved the car. I'm a big guy, and getting into something that looks like a golf cart is surprising," says Watkins, who turned down a company car because at the time it was a Chrysler Town and Country minivan, "and the driver's side sliding door hardware hit my head on bumps."
Since when is 5'11 considered a big guy?? All in all, my MCS is very suited to my needs. One driver always, maybe one passenger occasionally, and seldom four people.
