Alright 2003 Mini Coop standard 1.6L CTV (I know)

109K on the clock. We have 6 months for the CVT to give out! I hope it does! LOL Free replacement.

Anyway, she purrs like a kitten, is quick and doing better and better. Did an entire Rotor and Brake job. Was easy!

Yes I used a Needle nose pliers to twist the Back Caliper Pistons back in by hand LOL

Either way, fixing small things here and there. Then last week a noise started to develop. I can watch it match the Speedometer 10MPH to 60MPH Sounds like a winding or gear noise very much associated to the Speedo. I can hear it on the outside when the car is driving. Had the GF drive it by me so I could pay attention to it. So I am not sure its just the speedo. After 60 I can't tell if the noise is still there as the road and motor noise take over. It sounds to me plastic or something. Could it be the Speedo Cable or is it the Trans?

Any insight would help.

I read it could be the bearing and it would make noise from just a roll. So that is eliminated. Definitely Something Speed and Speedometer related.

I hate to welcome you aboard in such circumstances, but welcome. There are many knowledgeable people here who can share some insight as to what may be causing the noise you're experiencing.

Not positively sure but I don't think Minis use speedo cable. Speed is picked up by electronic sensor at the wheel.

If bearing noise, it usually cuts out when you turn the steering wheel.

Tranny... possible. Has the CVT seen a fluid change?
