Control issues under acceleration???

Noticed yesterday and today that under hard acceleration from rolling start that the steering gets very twitchy...almost to the point of out of control. No wheel spin, just starts to dart one way then the other. Is this a function of some front end parts wear, engine mounts? Kinda like torque steer I think.
This car is new to me but has 86K miles and was extremely well taken care of. My experience on track has been with racing Miatas and 914's and 911's, so this front wheel drive stuff is new to me. Trying to figure this one out....anyone have any ideas?

+1 to torque steer. An LSD helps to deter that, but it won't necessarily eliminate it.
