So I bought my 03 Mini off my uncle and it came with little mods to it. One of these mods was that he replaced the stock scoop with some fake plastic carbon fiber knock-off. So today I went searching for the stock scoop and found some extra parts along with it. I sort of see how they all fit back on but can anyone tell me if they're necessary? I've attached the pics below. Thanks guys!

P.S. Yes, I know it's a little dirty under there, but it's winter! Gimme a break =P

 

he replaced the original intercooler cover (picture 1; the black rectangular thing) with an ALTA cover

I thnk picture #2 is the original ducting that fit inside the bonnet against the backside of the scoop. I guess he decided he didn't need or want it when he changed to the scoop you describe.

Picture 3 shows the ALTA intercooler cover/diverter (I installed one of these for a friend)

 

Thanks man. So these things really are useless or probably wont even fit now? Keep em in the box in the basement? hahaha

 

You can keep them and when you go to sell the car put the originals back on and list the other parts on the marketplace. thats what most ppl do.

Exactly as Capt BJ described. I did the same on mine. Hold on to them or try to sell them.
