So my PS pump was making banshee noises, and seemed to work. But I decided to get it replaced rather than risk the sudden loss.

Does it makes sense now that on the highway going 70mph my gas mileage went from 28MPG to 33MPG avg? This is of course using the internal computer.

This is for over 1 hour straight highway driving. In the past, trips like this were typically the 28 or less MPG.

No, it doesn't. Since it is an electric pump, it is not related to the engine at all.

 

A one time, short term look at MPG is highly suspect. Any number of factors could be in play.
