2006 rear brake pad question

does anyone know if the spring clip brake pad go against the caliper piston, or does it go on the outside of the rotor? i can't seem to find an answer anywhere.

thanks

Spring clip goes over the piston. It's pretty obvious once you get in there. Note that it can be a bear to get it to stay clipped in.

I just did rear pads in my mini, as stated, clip goes over piston, very easy job.. Replacing the sensor was annoying though
