to all of you that have ordered an recieved your car what is the process and time line once your order has been put in. When I go to members lounge I just get order placed. I am sure it will change but I was wondering how it progresses and how long each stage might generally take. I am four months away I think but can hardly wait.

 

I placed my order at the end of April....but they ordered me two Minis by accident.
1st Mini produced June 10th
2nd Mini produced July 10th (or thereabouts)
Both were put on the same boat on around July 13th. (so it then changed to EnRoute, but not until it was 2 days outside New York)
Arrived at terminal in the US somewhere around the 22nd of July.
Took delivery August 3rd. The Mini that was produced 2nd got to me first....weird......

Alot of others had better accuracy with the MiniUsa site....I personally did not......

1/13/02 Saw MINI @ Detroit Auto Show.
1/14/02 Started looking for a dealer.
1/15/02 Got on a list of about 275 @ Cincinnati MINI.
Early May gave them $1000 deposit.
Early July ordered MCS Pure Silver/Black Roof, after much agony over color choice.
8/21/02 MINI Built.
9/3/02 Arrived in New York on the Hual Triton.
Sat in the VPC until the 13th then trucked to dealer.
9/16/02 Arrived at dealer.
9/18/02 I drove MCS home.
10/3/02 780 miles and the car totally rocks. I'm thinking of upgrading my rader detector.

MINIUSA site was always a few days behind, it is better to call their customer # once you get a production # or Vin #.
You can also track shipping through the shipping company website.

The wait is worth it no matter how long it takes.

 

Thanks for the info, it helps. Just ordered my MC last week from Schomp in Denver and was told it would be February delivery. It is a long wait but well worth it I am sure of that. Great to hear all the enthusiasm and ifo at this site.
