Did my first brake job on a Mini today. It's my girl friends car. I drive a 1974 BMW 2002.
I have done brakes on a few cars including volvos BMW's (old and new) and Japanese cars.
It was all fairly strait forward with no problems at all.
I had a cool new set of brake piston compression tools to work with instead of my old c clamp and brake pad combo.
I also did the discs because the old ones were So worn out!
We went with slotted/drilled rotors from Out Motoring, and Pagid Red brake pads from Bavarian Autosport.

I know the retainer spring clip thing is missing on the front of the caliper in the picture above. Put it on after I shot this...
I am trying to talk my girl into buying some ALT 279 Wheels from Out Motoring. I really like those!

 

We ordered some ALT 279 wheels today.
I want to to take them apart, paint the centers black, and add some gold rim bolts.
does anyone happen to know the correct size for the screws?
