R50/53 On The Road
"Doctor Sax" is my favorite, but since we're in a MINI context, one has to go with "On the Road," unless you have a meditative MINI, in which case, we go with "The Dharma Bums."

You could always go with the happy medium, Desolation Angels, but Dharma Bums is still my favorite.
And correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't FURTHUR from The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test?
Same difference, really, Neal Cassidy (Dean Moriarity) was the driver in Acid Test, as well.

Big Sur has some of Kerouac's most vidid and tender writing. I think it was written after the breakdown that followed the events of Desolation Angels. At times Big Sur is devastating, but throughout the prose is staggeringly beautiful.
Of course On the Road, and another favorite is Tristessa.
There's collection, I can't think of the name of it, where all the books are excerpted chronologically to create a memoir of his life. It's brilliant, a great read.
