I searched, if I missed an existing thread about this, I must be blind.

I was browsing Gabe's site and came across this atricle about the "underside side of the hood rubbing the paint off where it came into contact with the radiator surround on the extreme left and right of the underside."

I went down to check my car, and there it was... The paint had started to rub off. Gabe also pointed out that there is an official service bulletin about this (M41 200 03)

Check out that site. How many other people are experiencing this?

Thanks for the link, I'll have to go check mine, a visit to the dealer may be in order, depending on what I find on my 17k car.

I hadn't been aware of the issue before I went in for my 25,000 mile service last week. At that time the service department discovered the rubbed off paint and told me that they were fixing it. I guess they'd seen the service bulletin.

And I'm sort of embarrassed to note that I hadn't noticed the problem before they told me about it...AND I didn't bother to look at the touch-up after they did it.
