So I go to rotate my tires yesterday, and realize I've only got one jacking platform (the little rubber blocks under the rocker for placing the jack). I check the BMW ETK parts CD and it looks like there were originally four of them, one at each wheel. This is the first time I've jacked up the car, so it's not like there was some sort of jacking abuse that broke them off.

Is this common? Three out of four gone on a single car tells me they don't stay on well. How are they attached? If it is common, are there any tricks to keeping them attached?

The plastic blocks are kinda weak. I have even heard of a dealer who was removing them prior to delivery. I would jack on the frame, and use the blocks for jack stands. If a 4-point chassis jack is used these blocks work great. Ask your dealer to replace them..."they fell off"

I lost one of mine, too... The dealer replaced it (under warrantee) without too much fuss. There's a little pin that holds it in - make sure they're tight.

I lost one. If you reach up underneath you can feel the pin that holds it in. It's dead center in the block--you'll just feel a hole if it's all the way in.

I actually found one loose just before I jacked the car up. Just happened to check it by chance. (This was the replacement. Apparently whomever put the new one in didn't fully seat the pin.)

No problems in the last six months, so I guess once they're on correctly they stay.

The jacking blocks falling off is very common with dealership-installed Aero Kits; they fail to properly secure them and Bam, they fall off. It is not as likely for non-Aero kitted MINI's to lose jacking blocks, but if they do, it is just a simple warranty issue.
