R50/53 New kid on the block
Hi to you all, this is my first time and I really like the forum.
I'm thinking of getting a MCS for my girlfriend's birthday (don't tell her!) but...
We have two daughters aged 6 and 8. Having looked at the Mini's back seat, it looks very deep and I'm sure the girls will end up sitting with their legs straight out. Both uncomfortable for the girls and annoying for the front passengers! Has anyone any experience of this?
Toodle Pip.

How tall are the kids, and how tall are you and your girlfriend? You have a point about the kids sitting with their legs out straight, and how it may be uncomfortable...but it may be even more uncomfortable for them if they need to use the footwells. I'm 6' and I find that I end up keeping the driver's seat far enough back such that there's about 4" of access space to the footwell behind me.
It sounds like a great present for your girlfriend! But if this will be the "family hauler", I'd think twice. I love my MCS...but for all practical purposes, IMO it's a two seater.
(OK, let's hear now from all of the folks who haul around 3 big adults all of the time... I know you're out there.

First... Read this post and the link included.....
Then take a test drive. You will not truely know until you sit in it.
By the way... Welcome to the site.
Best of luck with your potential MINI purchase.
Happy Motoring,
SW

Thanks for the replies.
I guess I'll have to pretend to take the kids out one afternoon when no-one is looking.
Her current car is a VW Sharan (a bit like a Voyager) and I drive an Audi TT so the Mini would perhaps be too much of a shock to the system!
