R50/53 Modding the driver
I've been reading all over NAM about the need for an upgraded driver...a stock MINI is ready for some spirited driving right off the lot. It's driver skill that should be honed and improved upon (according to many). Well, I agree, and I just enjoyed my first MINI-meet last weekend in Ocala, FL.
So my request is this...
Are there any prized driver tactics that you all have? Any links you might suggest?

Sure there is plenty but no matter how much you read and understand with your "head" you still have to get in your MINI and do it. So a driving school with good instructors that lasts a day or two would be a good place to start and to repeat over and over. SCCA autocross events are also quite helpful and monthly so you can do some practicing.

...and since minihune mentioned the SCCA, here's their link:
http://www.scca.org - chapters all over the US, autocrossing everywhere!
also check out the BMW Car Club of America - http://www.bmwcca.org. Again, chapters all over the country and they run drivers schools and autocross events.
-noam, who agrees that the first mod you should do on any car is tighen the nut behind the wheel...
My only thought is that each time I buy a new car I have to adjust my driving habits and take a few weeks to get used to how the new car feels and drives.
No one can just trade in their old Buick on a Nissan, Toyota, Olds, MINI, etc... and expect to just sit down and drive it like they've owned it 6 months.

I soooo want to attend a driver's school, but the nearest track is a couple of hours away, so I haven't up to now. That being said, I've got a JCW MCS on order, and when it gets here, I'll be making plans to take a vacation around attending a weekend, or week-long (!
