Congratulations on both cars!

Well, I just took delivery of a '02 MINI Cooper 3 weeks ago and I am already entertaining the idea of getting a second one. However, I would not mind waiting another year or so as I am eager to see what 2004 has in store for MINI (New body styles, engine enhancements, etc).

Motor on!

They are adictive! We ordered an MCS with a 10 month wait but found one in stock that we purchased immediately. Now we are going to change that order to a MC with a CVT for my wife. We have done this duplicate car thing before.

We also are going to be a 2 Mini family, I am close to ordering an S and my wife has ordered a Indie Blue MC w/black top. We live in a Condo where we have a carport and one open space, we'll both be able to park in the carport soon.

I had a Cooper I took delivery of on 3/29/02. I bought it in for service about 3 weeks ago and test drove a MCS and drove home in the MCS. I think the thing that sold me on the car more than anything was the Getrag. I've had 'em before and it is nice to have one again. The other thing that sold me were the sport seats....I feel that they hold you in place a whole lot better than the standard Cooper seats did. All in all, I think, if the Cooper had the sport seats and the Getrag I wouldn't be posting on this thread.

Wife gets to choose the next car. With my obsession over this one I don't think she'll choose MINI. I am entertaining the idea of getting a 60 something MINI Cooper if I can find one. Shouldn't be to hard the club here has a few for sale.

My new MINI is my second Mini. My first is a true factory S Mk1 LHD '67, y/b just like my new one. So now I have bookends, well sorta. Between the two the older one has got just a little more glue on the road but no way near as nice at speed. Those 80 mph bumps are a bit hair raiseing with the 10 inch wheels. The new MINI is so much better that I have hardly had #1 out from under the cover at all. Still I have fond memories of tight squeeseees...with the older one and its helps to appreciate the design concessions between the two. Like those tiny sunvisors don't work well in either. I hope older sister doesn't get too jealous.
