Engine Splash Guard

I bought my wife a 2005 Mini Cooper Conv in Dec 09 after listening to her for nearly 40 years telling me about her experiences with her 69 Mini she had in high school. After taking it out of storage this spring and giving it the once over, I noticed it is missing what I call the "engine splash guard". The service manual refers to it as the "engine underbody protector". Would anyone know the part # and where I could purchase one. We live in Ontario, Canada?

moncrieg,

So nice that you got your wife a MINI. I've been telling my husband about them for 40 years too. I got my 2005 in Jan 2010 and I'm still in awe.

Try searching RealOEM.com. You can get a part number and contact your dealer.

I'm showing a few different underside panels for 2005. I have part numbers but would need to know the month of production and also if your car is an Cooper or Cooper S.

Go realoem.com and put in the vin# for the car, that's found either on the windscreen base or the shock tower under the bonnet.

I found the part # and it is 51757201783. It is called underbody paneling. It is a Cooper and a Mini dealer wants $100 for it. Still wondering if anyone knows where a person might get it cheaper. Maybe with shipping, it is just as cheap to buy it from the dealer.
