Door Lock Programming

Folks, I just bought a 2004 Mini Cooper S 6-speed in February of 2010. I want to know if there is any way for us to program our door locks, i.e., to unlock both doors when the engine is turned off. I know this subject was beat to death some years ago in these forums, but I have not seen anything new on the subject and thought I should check. In the past, forum participants suggested taking the car to a Mini dealer for this, but my nearest is 90 miles away and not open on weekends. Directions for programming the locks on my ’05 Camry are right there in the owner’s manual. Why must this be a big issue with Mini (rhetorical, I know)?
THANKS.

Pretty sure all programming must be done by the dealer.

If that the case, then why its called Convenience Feature in the Manual, going to dealer and paying $180 (my dealer asked for it) is not et all convenience.

I just got mine done for free, since my car was having the remotes programmed. But then again I paid $69 for the programming.
