R50/53 mini fini armrest
I always liked the look of the mini fini arm rest and wondered what happend to them. So i called the company and asked about the availability;release date;etc. They said it's now been approved by bmw and they should start shipping to dealers in a couple of weeks.I think it's the cleanest looking of all the arm rests;folding ouy of the way& so forth. Happy it's finally happening..jomo
Yeah, I really need an armrest, but all of the ones out now are pretty expensive and not the best looking. I like the mini fini one, except you lose the cup holder. I will still probably get it when it comes out, I recall someone saying it would cost around $150 or so.
Here is a nice review of it courtesy of Gabe Bridger

I tried out the MINI FINI arm rest at the Long Beach Poker Rally. I didn't like it mostly because I felt it was too long. My shifting arm felt restricted. Of course this may be because I'm so used to and comfortable with my TVA (GotMINI.com) Elbow Landing device which is about 1/3 the price of the MINI FINI.
>>Question: does the mini-fini armrest just snap down into the cupholder, or is it secured into it with screws or something? Just wondering how temporarily removable it is.
I don't have a final answer here, but given that you need to lean on it and given that BMW has given it it's blessing, I would find it very hard to believe that it's not secured by a big bolt or screw.
