my first post

I know this is an old thread but i have to share this...
I was just finishing up a SC pulley install and was using one of those T-bars that takes a bit in the front. Well i was just about done when the bit fell out the end and dropped straight down the dipstick tube.
I had to drain the oil, pull the oilpan, get a new gasket and actually had to take the next day off work and borrow a car for the night!!

That's not dumb, that's just bad luck!!! Did your oil pan gasket leak before having to pull the pan? If it did, then it wasn't a total waste.

Some may have seen the thread: I broke the clip that hold the coolant sensor on doing a diff swap. I also forgot to reconnect the sensor for the backup light, which is buried deep in the engine bay.

I forgot that the paper gasket on the Redline oil bottle was loose and when topping up I forgot to look to make sure the gasket was still in the cap. Since I didn't see it stuck to the top of the bottle, I poured it into the valve cover (sigh). I thought long and hard about it and decided it would be chewed up and filtered out without damage...I've been watching the oil presure gauge for 4000 miles and knock on wood, so far no problem.

Ive done this a couple of times, the first time in my Saturn years ago:

I thought I was a big shot when I got into the car and smoothly backed it out of the gate. Of course, in my coolness-of-being, I neglected to close my door and sprung it. Car doors dont like opening 130 degrees.

Almost did this in the MINI but caught it just before the basketball pole in the driveway did irreparable damage.

I was plasti-dipping my car recently, and when i went to remove my chrome gas cap to clean and paint it, it slipped out of my hands and fell on the concrete floor. I chipped it pretty bad , but at least I painted it so it doesn't show.
