Hi, Everyone!

Couldn't get MINIclo to start yesterday, nor did the remote key work, or even the hazards! She was totally dead! Called up Long Beach MINI's service dept., who suggested I call MINI Roadside Assistance to have my MINI flatbedded down to Long Beach...

Anyway, long story shorter, called in this morning and it was a loose positive battery terminal! They checked her all out & that was it! I suspect that when she was at Long Beach MINI on Monday having the driver's seat squeak remedied, that PERHAPS the battery was disabled during the process? The tech MAY have been a "tad" sloppy reconnecting the battery. This is all conjecture, of course!

So, I picked her up at noon & she's just dandy again! Such a relief because we're going to La Jolla tomorrow to show her off to relatives...'twould have been too, too embarrassing to've told them "oh, my BRAND NEW MINI is in the shop!"

So, people, learn from my time-wasting example! Beware of loose battery cables!

Cheers!
Clover

MINIclo:

I am glad to hear that your brief electrical problem was caused by a loose bat. connection.

Couple of questions for you:

1) How do you rate MINI's Roadside assistance response time?
2) Did you have a squeak driver's seat? What's the build date (Month/year) of your car?

Cheers and enjoy!

I have an August '02 build and haven't had any problems with the seats. I have the "revised" seat adjutment controls, but I don't know if I also have other updated seat parts as well. Time will tell.

MINIclo: Have a wonderful time on your upcoming roadtrip!
