Hate to revive a old thread, but if anyone has instructions on removing the oil filter housing on a r53 s manual, it would be appreciated. I have a feeling I'm going to be replacing one.

Here is some great DIY Bentley manuals for the Gen 1 MINIs.

Here is for the oil filter housing. You will have a manual version which has the cooler on the side with the Cooper S engine.

Bringin it back??

Are there any updates on the r53 manuals? I just finished tearing down my block and could seriously use some good advice on a manual. I know the Bentley is preferred, but money is tight. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with either the Chilton or Hayes while doing a full rebuild. I need torque spec and other information for the entire block and transmission... I know the thread is old but i could really use some experienced feedback.
Thank you in advance!

Go to YouTube and search for ModMini. He has some of the best Mini Cooper repair videos you'll see anywhere.

There are also tons of other vids and DIYs online for whatever procedure you might need. Here on NAM (a great resource) you'll find endless contributions from Mini owners who have taken the time to share their experience and input. Pelican Parts also has a bunch of awesome step-by-step instructions with pictures. I have The Bible - the Bentley Repair Manual - but I seldom have to use it because of all of the in-depth information that's now available online - and of course, it's all free.

I'm actually subscribed to him already!! Haha small community. I just finished his 9 part rebuild series... I just want a hard copy or something printable to have at the car with me. It's my first rebuild and i just want to make sure everything goes in exactly as it should. To much $$ invested to not be completely thorough.
Thank you for the response though!
