Normal Oil Operating Temp?

So my car has an instrument which tells me my battery voltage and the temperature of my oil, the only thing is I'm not sure what is a normal temperature for a MINI Cooper S, being the odd little guys they are.lol
If anyone knows exactly what temp the engine oil should be working at I would greatly appreciate it

p.s The instrument measures in celsius, so a fahrenheit to celsius answer would be most helpful, thanks!

cheers,
Justin

I'd say anywhere between 82ºC and 104ºC is good. 130ºC would be too high for extended periods, but you may see this when pushing it hard on a hot day. Don't push the car until the oil gets to at least 70ºC. Also note that the engine will warm up long before the oil does.
