I see this option on the mini website for $1,200.00. Is that the actual cost and comes installed and painted from factory? or am i missing something?

Installation and painting of Aero Kit costs extra.

 

Not only does it cost extra....it's alot extra,ushually more than the kit itself through a dealer exspect to pay $1500.00 or more extra! My dealer wants $1795.00 extra which is just insane...best bet would to have a good local body shop do it or find a friend who can do it or has connections.I think $1000.00 would be reasonable for the work involved.

 

The aerokit parts only is the $1200 and the reason why the installation and painting costs alot is that the dealer is likely to farm out the work to a body shop of it's choice and charge you for it. My area the labor and installation comes to about $1800-2300. Some depends on metallic vs solid color and some on whether you want the wheel arches and full lower trim areas painted the same color as the body or a contrasting color like silver or black. Lots of options.

In the end you can buy the kit yourself and have a body shop do the install and painting for you but then it will not be part of your car loan.
