For those of you with your MINI's already, what is meant by programmable features? I've seen a couple of posts on here talking about "programmable features".

Much thanks

There are a number of features that the dealer can program to function the way you want them to...for example:

Driving lights...stay on all the time that the ignition is on.
Take-me-home lights...stay on for 30 seconds or so after you shut the car off.
Auto-door locks...I believe they lock at a certain speed.
My personal favorite, opening and closing of the windows and sunroof...You can use the remote to simultaneously open the windows and sunroof, and use the key in the door lock to close them the same way. Unfortunately they are not allowed to program the remote to close everything, at least not in the US.

Anyway there are more options available which your dealer should be able to fill you in on...enjoy!!

Check out the threads in the 'Vehicle Memory' post within "Beneath the Bonnet (Hood)" Forum for a lot of detail about programmable features.

I've done a lot of research lately on the capabilities for US MINIs. Just keep in mind that you will not be able to have everything listed in the Owners Manual but you do have more options than the dealer might know about.

Have fun!
