Anybody got a spare battery cable bolt?

Mine broke. Dealer wants to sell me the whole battery cable. I just need the bolt that tightens the cable connector to the terminal. Anybody got a spare to sell?

Have you considered getting a replacement bolt from an auto parts store or a hardware store? YOu just need a generic bolt and nut.

Good thing the car is already out of warranty. Those non-MINI approved nuts and bolts will negate any warranty coverage on any component in the car.

The bolt on the battery cable isn't just a bolt. It has a V wedge on the bottom that causes the cable to get tight on ther battery when you tighten the bolt. I prob. have a used one here at the shop if you want to shoot me an email.

Dr. Way, you are absolutely correct. I just examined my cable clamp battery bolts. Leave it to MINI or someone to turn a simple thing into something complicated and probably expensive.

Old thread here, but I have a fix for this in case it happens to anybody else. The part is not sold separately by MINI, but VW sells one that works part# 6X0-915-138 and costs about $10. This worked on my positive cable, but it looks like it is the same on the negative.
