Need some help with buying 05 MCS

Hey guys,

There is a gray with white roof mcs at my chevy dealer(freehold NJ). The car is modded. CF hood, intake, header, exhaust, drop and wheels. oh, and its for lambo doors which im not really a fan of. (if anyone knows whos car that is, that would be great!)

I test drove the car, and everything seems to work, except the supercharger. I never rode in a mini, so im not sure how fast theyre suppose to be.

On the oem boost gauge, the gauge reads vacume just fine, but it stop once it hits 0 it stays at 0, then it doesnt show boost. Perhaps its a bad gauge, but im not sure.

The supercharger whines and the car has a little pep to it. I didnt get WOWed at it though.

What do you guys think?

Any opinion would help,
Cliff

I'm guessing the gauge isnt working. The 05 is a pretty quick car... especially with the mods it has. If you can hear the supercharger whine its definitely spinning!

I've never seen that car before when I was in Jersey, so I'm sorry I can't help. He might not have been an active member on the forums, I would of noticed a MINI with lambo doors at meets if I saw.

Hi Cliff, welcome to NAM.
How many miles on the MCS? You should get quite a bit of acceleration out of that puppy. It might be worthwhile to have a Mini mechanic go over it if the dealer will allow it. Also, make sure the hinges are in good shape - Lambo doors can be stressful to the metal and to the mental if you have problems.
Good luck,
Kevin

If the gauge was connected directly to any vacum line in the car, it would give you this result and stops at 0 check if it is connected to the vaccum of the supercharger. It might be connected to the wrong whose
