how many problems..

Has anyone bought one of these cars new and not had a boat load of problems. I've been reading posts here and wondered what the heck I've gotten myself into. I gave my Mazda to my daughter and was thinking of letting her drive the MINI, Naw- she kill her self.

I've had problems with the '05, but not a single issue with the '09 yet. I guess it's just the "luck of the draw" or whatever.

You must realize...the users that post their problems here are only a fraction of MINI drivers out there. Most users that would post here would post problems they have in their MINI anyways. Nobody really makes threads to say "Nothing happened today!"

true, most use this site to find info to fix things themselves. There really are not too many inherent problems that all minis have, just like on the 2nd gens, there are small electrical things that the dealers fix, and the only major one was the cold-start issue. It seems that there is a fix now, and Mini is manning up and taking care of it.

I wouldnt worry at all.

yes. i got my 06 mcs new and have had little to no issues with it... i put a 15% pulley and giac software in at about 6K miles and h&r sport springs at about 10K miles and the only issues have been:

- radiator hose leak (fixed under warranty)
- water pump leak (fixed under warranty)
- third brake light cover flew off (fixed under warranty)
- just threw code p2096 (not really anything wrong, got the light shut off at the dealer)

other than that... no issues. and i'm at 55K miles now.
