OK you experts on ALL THINGS MINI -- I have just ordered my 2003 MC, Velvet Red, Black Top, Cordoba Beige Seats, Premium and Sports Pkg, Xenon Heads, Rally Lights, yada yada yada...my only question is on TIRES...

Upgraded to the 16" wheels -- which on the MC would give me the 5-star Alloys. But to me, they look like Sheriffs Badges from the old Gunsmoke series (no offense if you have them, just my opinion). I like the 16" V-Spoke alloys much better -- and I "really" like the 17" S-Lite alloys (but I hear they come at a great price hike). ALso, the BBS's are super looking but $2500??? Who Knew????? LOL

For those of you who might ask -- I'm getting the MC simply because I'm not a fan of the air intake holeinthehood. Too "hot rod" for my taste. Anyway, please help me with the Tire question. What do you have -- and why???

Thanks!

I went through the same quandary and ended up getting two sets of wheels. One thing that could help is go to the tirerack.com website and look at the different wheels on the cooper. They don't have all the factory wheels but have enough that are close that will help you out and some pretty cool aftermarket ones.

Good luck.

I assume you are refering to the wheels, not the tires? In any case, mention your thoughts to the dealer and see if they would be willing to help set up a swap with you and a MCS customer. A lot of folks like the five spokes (myself included) and I know I've seen the occasional post from someone purchasing the S complaining that they aren't offered as an option on that car. If you get lucky and find someone like that then perhaps you could just swap wheels and only pay for the dealer's labor in doing so. Another option is to use forums like this yourself and try to set up such a deal aftermarket.

If that doesn't work for you then I agree that the tirerack site is a fun place to play around.
