Hey gang...

There appears to be a small amount of material remaining from what I believe must have been a foam-type of filter under the two plastic covers in the cowl area (vent air intake) on my `03 MC. Anyone have a suggestion for replacing that? It looks like the same type of stuff that you might find in a window-type air conditioning unit of a home. It would seem it could be had elsewhere rather than oredering from a MINI dealer.

Any suggestions?

It is the same type of foam. I'm not sure that MINI even offers it any more, when I asked them to replace the filters under warranty they put on the non filtered ones and said they were'nt available anymore.

There was a service bulliten issued on these back in 03 or 04. If customer complained the dealer replaced under warranty back then with a new p/n that does not have the foam. They may not have the old part number in stock but they surely will have the current p/n in stock.
