So I'm needing to know if I have the LSD or not. I bought the car used ...and the Dealer can NOT tell me...my car was purchased in Germany and they referred me to BMW's Germany sales who was less than helpful. The "options" list that shows up in their system just shows a base Cooper S and no packages...even though it has most all the options.

Anyhow, I read in another post that you can tell by jacking up the car, having it out of gear, and turning the wheel. If the other side goes the same way it has the LSD, if it goes in reverse then you don't. Is that true? If not, is there any other way to tell?

turn off dsc pull out of a corner at full throttle see if it spins the inside tire a whole lot

 

And if it does, that means no LSD, right?

I don't plan to drive the Mini for a few days...does the "jacked up" method work?

 

jacked up the car will not allow you to easily spin the tire in the air

and if your inside wheel just spins in a corner
their is no lsd
with a lower power level like a stock car its not much of a concern
where i am and where im going
its annoying to not have one.
