We picked up our Mini S today and can't figure out how to attach the front license plate bracket. We have attached the license plate to the bracket with the four provided screws and white caps but don't have any extra screws to attach the bracket to the bumper. We see dimples in the bumper but no holes! HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

 

when I went to pick up my car, my front plate bracket wasn't installed yet, so I got to see my salesman do it in front of my eyes.

There should be two black screws that came with the plate bracket. They might be in your glove box. If not, ask your dealer for it. My salesman screwed the screw into the dimples in the bumper first, to get the screws started. Then he took the screws out and attached the license plate frame onto the bumper with those two screws. After the plate frame is on the bumper, we then attached my license plate noto the frame. I didn't get white caps though.

If you take your plate off the bracket, you should see two holes that line up perfectly with the two dimples in the bumper.

 

I drilled holes in the bracket so the screws would not be tite in the bracket. then I drilled very very small starter holes in the dimples in the bumper. the bracket (at the top) then hooks to the lower grille first, then lower it and line up holes to attach with the 2 screws. then attach plate. do not over tighten the screws 'cause they mite pull rite out of the bumper . snug should be fine. hope this helps, tim

 

Thanks so much both of you for your help. We found some screws (didn't come with the car) and were able to attach the bracket and then the plate. We are a couple of klutzes! The dealer should have done this! Now our new mini is ready for the Southern MO Rally this morning! Thanks again for answering.
