Auto A/C or Manual A/C

I have an 06 JCW with manual A/C controls, but have seen JCW's with the Auto temp control. What is the reason they would have manual controls while the others have Auto set it and forget it type controls?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Chuck

Chuck,

The Auto A/C control mechanism was an option on all 1st Gen MINIs, including Coopers, Cooper Ses, and the factory JCW, both in the hardtops and the convertibles. Auto A/C came with the "Premium" package, but it was also available as a separate A la carte option if you chose not to get the Premium package.

There's no direct correlation with the JCW models and which controls they ended up with.

(Moved to the Coupe Talk forum, because this question really doesn't have anything to do specifically with JCW stuff.)

The auto A/C has been a $500 option as long as I've been looking at MINIs. Its worth every penny, all ours had it.

We originally got it because it came with the carbon filter, but soon found out how useful it was.

I am partial to the look of the manual controls. They seem to give the interior a bit more "throw-back" character.

Auto A/C is nice though, we have it on the truck.

Auto A/C is nice, some people dont like the lack of control it gives you but i had it in mine. I would do it again if i did it all over. The only thing i dont like is that if its hot when you get in the auto fan kicks in and blows hot air in your face for a min or 2 until it cools down.
