There is a great article in the November issue of Sports Car International called "Hot Hatch Renaissance", where they compare a MCS, Honda Civic Si, VW GTI1.8T, and the Ford SVT Focus. Needless to say the MCS won the comparo hands down;

"It's partly the Mini's ample engine performance, partly its convincing styling, partly its awe-inspiring handling but mostly because the Cooper S provides much more driving involvement than any of the others. Wow! An absolute blast to drive. So much stick. So much character. So much poise. So much damn fun. It is simply a special car."

I am glad I have one!!! For those of you on the waiting list, yes, it is worth the wait. And for those of you thinking about getting a Cooper, what's to think about??? Get one.

There is also another article in this month's Automobile mag....
It is the 50 top cars for 2003 and the Mini is NOT one of them, but they have a separate article about it.....it's not so much focused on the car as it is on the branding of the car.....

And by the way....that mag is worth the buy just to see the crap coming out in 2003 and some of the other garbage in there. 2005 New VW Bus?

And has anyone heard of the concept and possibly to production car, the Scion? Toyota is making them I believe. It looks like a big tin lunch box on wheels.

Cheers!

Perfect! That's exactly it. But, but, I thought that cool and hip, right? Just like the Pontiac Vibe (which I always think looks like a vehicle that just escaped from a close call with a junkyard crusher).

Perhaps this explains why if you go to the Scion's website there's no picture of the car to be found.

I think they named it wrong....if I had named it, it would have been called the Toyota Drive-By.

That Toyota Scion is aweful looking. I don't suscribe to the Pokemon school of automotive design.
