New Mini guy here, I have a ?
A few weeks ago I but a 2005 MCS and I love it. She's all black w/tinted glass. Since I bought her from a private seller I figured I would spend the first couple weeks going over my new toy. I replaced front and rear breaks, changed oil, K&N air filter, seafoam, new interior filter, new tires, and wash and waxed (several times). My question is, I have automatic transmission (the one with the paddles on the steering wheel) and it seems to not shift smoothly. There is no transmission noise. My old vehicle was a Ford Ranger so I dont know if I am used to the way it shifted. I have never driven a car with 6 gears so maybe it's just me. Is there any computer resets for the trans like the reset for the ECU?
there is totally a reset for the ECU. Search for a thread called, "Reseting your ECU, like giving your MINI viagra." That will explain how. I would type it, but I would have to go outside and get the instructions. too far.
The ECU reset might help. It will certainly help with the car getting to know how you drive.
