R50/53 Anyone have both the Chrono Pack AND a ScanGauge?
Anyone have both the Chrono Pack AND a ScanGauge?
I'm curious if the oil temperature/oil pressure information is provided to the Chrono Pack gauges via the car's data bus, or if there are just conventional connections from the temperature and pressure senders directly to the gauges.
So, for anyone that has the Chrono Pack and a ScanGauge-type tool, can you see the oil pressure and oil temperature on the ScanGauge?
I know that if you can't see the information on the ScanGauge, it doesn't necessarily mean that the information isn't on the bus, but if you can see it, that's proof that the sender data is getting to the gauges via the bus.
Thanks!

I have both, and oil pressure and temp are not available on the ScanGuage. Just about everything else is... speed, rpm, water temp, intake air temp, fuel flow, mpg's, engine load at current rpm, boost, map pressure, voltage, etc.
Thanks - another poster in a different thread was asking about the possibility of retrofitting the Chrono Pack to his car, and I'm just trying to figure out if it would be as simple as plugging the temp/pressure senders and Chrono gauges into the bus, or if there's likely to be extra wiring involved. I suspect that the senders are going to have to be wired directly to the new gauges, but the test you just did would have been an easy way to potentially prove myself wrong.
