R50/53 dvd player in glove box?

Im thinking of getting one of those 5-7" portable dvd player units and mounting it in the glove box, and hooking it up to the radio via auxiallary which I will mount in the glove box wall... is this possible?
Does anyone have any advice. I dont intend to watch it while im driving, it is for passengers. So i dont care that it is over there. Putting it in the radio costs about a grand AT LEAST. this method will be $200 + install costs, which I'll do myself, obviously,
