06 floor mats

What is the difference between the hatchback and convertible's floor mats? I have an opportunity to get some convert's carpet mats cheap. Will they fit the hatchback? I have an 06 MCS with the rubber ones and want to change them out. Thanks

The front ones are the very same for both cars. The rear ones are smaller due to the convertible having some steel plates under the front seats. Convertible ones will fit a hardtop, but NOT the other way around without "bulging" edges.
A suggestion: I would buy the convertible ones that you have to opportunity to get, sell them on "the-bay", and get a used set of "hardtop" ones either here or on "the bay" again, since you might recoup the money for the "hardtop" ones and maybe get some revenue due to the fact the convertible ones are harder to get used and people are prone to pay more for them. Hope this helps.

Thanks

Seems like a big hassle to go through.

If it's a really good price, buy the convertible set; use the fronts and sell the rears. For your own rears, it depends on how much you really want to also change them -- continue using the rears you have, or buy new or used hatchback rears.
