Sept. build - seems unclear if the the MP3 update for the radio takes effect immediately, please advise.

You might try MINI2 because they are mostly from the UK so there are a couple of people over there that have 04s, but I've been over there and I look at all the threads dealing with this subject and no one has a definate "yes i have an 04 and it does play mp3s" answer. So just hold on a little longer.
