R50/53 04 Cooper S outside temp blink???
04 Cooper S outside temp blink???
Today there was a beep and then the outside temperature display began blinking at 32 degrees. It is 40 degrees outside. The car has been in the garage for an hour and the temperature is still blinking at 32 degrees.
Can anyone tell me what is going on?
Thanks
JC

You may have ice built up on or near the sensor... let it warm up some. The sensor is located about midway between the headlight and the centerline of the car, on the inside of the bumper skin just below the bumper beam itself. It's not visible from outside unless you remove some front end "stuff". You MAY be able to see it if you have a powerful lgiht and a dentist's mirror, poke the dentist's mirror in through the lower grille and angle up toward the headlight.
Return the mirror to the dentist when you're done.
