122K, transmission acting stupid

Hey all, I got a 03 s with 122K on it and now the transmission is acting really odd. I was driving last night and it got stuck in 6th gear. When I try to shift out all the force i could put on the shifter wouldn't get it out. I let it sit for about 20 minutes and I was finally able to wrestle it out of gear but now when I try to get the shifter to move it takes hurculean strength to get it into another gear. Also, I can't seem to find third or forth. Help Please.... I was thinking it might be the gear shift lug http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...85&hg=25&fg=05 right at the shift box or maybe one of the boden cables is getting stuck? Anybody ever had this sort of issue?

Remove the air box so you can see the cables, then disconnect the cables and try the shifter moving only the cables.

Then by hand move the tranny levers. It will be obvious very quickly as to which is stiff to move.

Are you on your original clutch? It might not be disengaging all the way.

Thanks, I'll pull the airbox and try the cables. I'll keep you all updated.
