Towing Questions

Hey everyone!! Just a few questions about towing minis :

- Ive heard that standard towing companies cannot (or refuse to) tow minis off of a private property (apartment housing) because of complications with its process (tow hook, flatbed only, etc. ) ... is that true?

- Basically, i just wanna know if i can get away with leaving my car parked at my girlfriends apartment parking lot without a permit; without being towed .. parking on the street is out of the question for my mini

Any information would be great

Incorrect. A Mini, as far as towing goes, is just another front wheel drive car. I drove wreckers for 9 years and I can tell you with a great amount of certainty that, short of blocking the car in with other cars or parking it in a garage, there is nothing that you can do to a car to prevent it being towed. Yes, without damage.

if you would ever consider getting your own car carrier, i would recommend purchasing a used one from uhaul. they sell their old auto transports for pretty cheap and are willing to negotiate.

My boyfriends dad had bought one and we have been able to use it in so many ways. i thought that we would have trouble getting my mini on it, but really we havent had a problem.

First off, if you park w/o a permit, you're at fault. Let's assume the best scenario. Assume the towing co. knows what they're doing, you'll still be left with the bill. They'll take at least a couple of days to notify you so they can earn $ for storage.

If you park head in, they will attach the towing hooks onto the control/trailing arms of the rear suspension and drag the car backwards before they lift the front off the ground. That alone may bend the arms.

I've always demand a flatbed when my car needs to be towed.
