How do you disable the windows from opening when u hold down on the unlock button. It drives me nuts when u hold the unlock button a sec and the windows roll down. Is there a way to disable this.

 

That's funny. I have always had a hard time getting that feature to work!! Maybe I have accidentally disabled it, and didn't know.

If there is a disable method, I want know it, too, because there would likely be an "enable" method that I could try.

The only way I ever got it to work was when the car was newer, and it happened accidentally, as it apparently has with you, too.

 

you have to go to the dealer and have them re/de-program your MINI from doing that

try and think of any other things that you want or don't want, that way you can do it all in one shot... some dealerships charge for the reprogramming. so if you don't have daytime running lights or you want them off, etc. you can do it once with one charge. ive heard different accounts on pricing. could even be free if you're still under warranty and you got a *nice* service manager

 

To unlock JUST the doors, it is only required that you "momentarily press" the key fob button. But if you have to "hold down" the button to get the locks to respond soooooo long, that the windows and roof opens as well, then you have another issue all together

Maybe the battery in the key fob is old and needs replacing, or could be that the key fob button / circuit board inside has dirt or crime on it.

Personally, to me sounds more like issue with key fob.

1) If you have a spare, see if that one behaves in same manner,

2) Change battery

3) Clean underside of button/circuit board contact inside key fob with electronics circuit board cleaner spray.
