Missing bolt - need help

I am performing my first oil change on a 2004 MCS JCW- no big deal so far. I have run into one problem though - next to the oil drain plug (toward the passenger side) there is a threaded hole that looks like it should have a bolt in it. Any idea what size bolt should go there?

I have no idea where it could have gone, but I can't imagine it can be a good thing.

Thanks,

Bryan

Just checked one that's on the lift out here in my shop, and there is no bolt in that spot.
The threaded hole that is on the corner of the oil pan, right?

I would guess it's to pop the oil pan off after you take all of the bolts out. It threads into the pan and pushes on the engine block to break the seal. Beats prying it off with a screwdriver.

Whew!! Thanks for the info. I looked at it again after I posted and decided it wasn't a big problem. Helps to know that it is supposed to be that way.

Next...try to change the gear box oil!!!
