I, Guys:

I have a strange problem with my 2003 MC.

Once in a while, I start the car and I don't have Power Steering at all. I drive it with no PS and do my errands. The next time I start the car, PS is back to normal. The same thing will happen some other time, without no particular reason.

This will happen especially when it's hot outside but the PS will never go while I am driving; only when I start the car.

Any advice would be appreciated.

check the powersteering fluid first
your PS pump maybe going out and getting a last few pumps out of it.
your alternator might be failing also.

 

First check your fuses. Next I'd recommend switching on your A/C while the car is running, get out of the car and with a flashlight check to make sure your PS fan engages.
